What is Shame?

There are MANY definitions of SHAME. I’m not here to say who is right or wrong, but let’s get clear on what it is we are referring to when we talk about SHAME in this particular journey. In this audio you will hear definitions, and 3 clues as to if what you are experiencing is in fact SHAME.

The Qualities of Shame;

There are 3 main qualities of Shame (regardless of whether it is healthy or toxic shame) that are standard across the board. In this audio we unpack these 3 qualities.

Behavioural tactics Shame uses;

Once an instant of shame has occurred in the body there are 4 main behaviour tactics that then occur. In this audio we discuss these tactics and what they look like.

Alternatives to shame ;

Gulit, Embarrassment, Perfectionism, Trauma, How are these different to shame but entangled in some way? Why are the often interchanged but sometimes misunderstood.

Healthy Shame;

Is there any type or aspect of shame that can be helpful and resourceful to the human experience? How to recognise healthy shame vs toxic shame.

Healing Shame;

All this shame exploration may well be pointless without converting the experience to one that no longer plagues us. We can utilise our experiences of shame through healing and transforming it into embodied wisdom.
